On a hill near the village of Selyan (Filipi), 12 km north of Kavala, is the tomb of an unknown Bektashi father. This 1780 tomb was converted into a chapel in 1924. It is also known that there were many Bektâshîs in the 18th and 19th centuries in this region between Thessaloniki and the Karasu River, known as Eastern Macedonia. This tomb, which is not identified, was recorded in the Ottoman Erkân-ı Harp Map dated 1899. The tomb is a simple building with a rectangular plan, a gable roof and shows no architectural features.
