On the road from Genissea to Komotini, there is Kırklar Dervish Lodge where Kaygusuz Sultan is buried. There is an epitaph dated 1265 (1848) on the door at the entrance of the tomb. The dervish lodge was turned into a church by the Bulgarians who occupied the region during the Balkan Wars. On July 5, 1913, Archaeologist Bogdan Filov, who came to Genissea, reported that the dervish lodge had been turned into a church and took a photograph of the octagonal tomb next to it. The dervish lodge building was constructed of rubble stone walls with wooden beams and is a simple building in terms of architecture. The tomb seen in the old photograph has not survived.
