The earliest document we have been able to identify regarding the Sultan Bayezid Mosque is dated 29.07.1079 / 02.01.1669. In the Ottoman archives, there are more than twenty documents related to the assignment of imams, khatib (preacher), muezzin and serzâkir (head ritual reciter) in the mosque.
