Dırama, Mustafa Ağa Câmii

Nikoforos, located 16 km east of Drama, was the village of the wife of Mehmet Ali Pasha, the Governor of Egypt. Ayverdi, while reporting the works in the villages of Drama (Ev.K.K. 736-758 notebooks), states that the Mustafa Ağa Mosque in Nikiforos is recorded in two separate registers and goes on that it is registered in two separate registers and in the Prime Ministry Archives. Mustafa Ağa Mosque was built in 1880 and after the exchange (1923) it was converted into a church under the name of St George. During this conversion, just like in the Mehmet Pasha Mosque in Serres, the shape of the roof was changed, the narthex was expanded, an apse was added to the qibla wall and a bell tower was added on the minaret base. Mustafa Aga Mosque, which was used as a church in Nikiforos until a new one was built in 1980, was abandoned at this date and is now in a state of disrepair. From the satellite image, it can be seen that it is located in the direction of the qibla at an angle of 141° from the north.
