It is located on Bab El-Oued Street in Algeria. The mosque, which was built in 1623, was converted into a church after its minaret was destroyed during the French occupation. During this period, it lost its original characteristics to a great extent. After the independence of Algeria, its minaret was rebuilt and turned back again into a mosque.
