It is located on Davit Guramishvili Street in the neighbourhood to the north of Akhaltsihe Castle. The mosque, which was built of stone, has a rectangular plan, measuring 10.50 x 16.60 m from the outside. The mosque, whose founder and the name are unknown, was allocated to the Armenians who were resettled in Akhaltsihe by the Russians after 1832 and converted into the Armenian Catholic Church. During this transformation, the minaret was demolished up to its base and on it a bell tower was. A door was opened on the south façade, and one of the windows was enlarged and turned into a door. Most of the windows were covered with bricks, and the altar and pulpit were also destroyed.
